you can make one that will also let you transport the squirrel by making a box with one end open. the box should be big enough so that the squirrel will go in and not feel crowded. on the open end you will need to make a sliding door that will move freely. take a standard mouse trap and mount it on top of the box. to the bait platform on the mouse trap you tie a string that hangs into the box. on the arm of the trap that ';gets'; the mouse you tie another string that is then tied to a nail or pin that holds the sliding door open.


your bait goes on the string hanging into the box, then set the mouse trap and put the pin under the sliding door.


when the squirrel takes the bait it trips the mouse trap which pulls the pin and drops the door.
