Try one of those pest plug-in products. For less than $30, you plug one into your wall and it supposedly sends a vibration throughout your walls making it uncomfortable for the rodents to stay around. Works in theory for me, but I have no idea if it's actually working for us, because we never heard the mice and still don't. try a pesticide. it sounds cruel, but hey if youre desperate..
Glue traps are the best method to trap rats and mice.

You can buy these sticky traps...they are flat...just put some food in the middle and the rodents get stuck...you can tie a string to the trap and slide it or toss it.
IF AEROSOL WILL REACH - THE RODENT BLOCK ANY WHERE CLOSE TO THIS AREA WILL WACK'EM... BUY THE GRANUALS 7 HURL THEM AT THE ATTIC AREA!
