How do you trap a squirrel without killing it, just want to remove him from property?

We used to make traps that would capture squirrels and other small rodents. Get an old coffee can, a stiff (or thick) rubber band, two 2'; sticks, a 6 - 8'; stick and some stiff wire mesh screen. The mesh has to be strong enough to firmly fit against the opening of the can. Cut the mesh in a circle that's just a little wider than the opening of the coffee can. Attach the mesh firmly to the can using twist wire (like the kind you get to seal garbage bags) and test to see if it ';hinges'; like a gate. You can drill or punch a couple holes in the side of the coffee can to slip the wire through. Once this is firmly attached, poke a small hole thru the bottom of the coffee can (just wide enough to slip the rubber band through). When the loop of the band is through the hole, use the 2'; stick to slip thru the loop. This will hold the band firm while you stretch it to be attached to the screen mesh. Use the other 2' stick using the same method to attach the other end of the band. Pry open the screen mesh (be careful not to bend it) and using the 6-8'; stick prop the mesh ';gate'; open, with one end against the mesh and the other against the edge of the can. Place the can on it's side with the mesh against the ground. When setting the trap, it is important to leave a little space underneath the mesh, so that when a rodent does step on it, it will be enough to loosen the stick from the edge of the can so it can drop. The rubberband then does the rest (closing the mesh with the animal inside). You can then place peanut butter on a piece of bark, or other food enticement and stick this in the can all the way. You may need more than one of these contraptions....How do you trap a squirrel without killing it, just want to remove him from property?
the hav-a-hart box trap works great, bait it with peanut butterHow do you trap a squirrel without killing it, just want to remove him from property?
A squirrel trap.

It's a wire box that you put bait into. Mr. Squirrel goes in and the door shuts. No injuries.

Call your local animal control and humane society offices. They often loan out such traps. Best bait: Peanut butter on some old stale bread.
Just call your local animal control. They will set a trap and remove him to a sanctuary so he can play with other squirrels.
use a live trap and bait the little guy in with peanuy butter
They make squirrel traps. Buy one. I guess you could build one, but squirrels can be fairly difficult to trap if you get a really clever one.

Are you Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeah's? If so, helloo
Climp a tree and make a sound like a nut, when he comes to you reach out and grab him. lol just kidding. Honestly, get a cat.
Use a ';Hav-A-Heart'; trap to secure the little rascal.
You made me think of something so funny. My brother was trying to catch a squirrel who chewed out his screen in his kitchen window and was snacking on whatever he left on the kitchen counter, It was hornory enough to chew open a pak of raisin bread and pig out. He set a wire cage trap outside in order to catch the little varmint. It turns out he accidentally caught a skunk instead and his wife (who is bulgarian and very new to the USA) thought it was a cat. It sprayed her more than once. She was whacking at at the cage with a hoe trying to turn it loose, and it was getting more and more pissed off. You could smell skunk spray about 10 blocks away for weeks. The whole neighborhood was griping about the odor, and my brother ended up burying his wifes clothes in a garbage bag in the back yard. All I can say is make sure you catch a squirrel, and not some other critter, and make sure you know the difference between a black cat and a skunk! HAHAHAHAH!!!!
I don't know about trapping it, but you could keep it from you property by spreading white pepper in your yard and along side your drive/walkway. they don't like the smell, and it kinda gets their paws alot warm. Hold the calls and emails PETA and SPCA, this is harmless, it doesn't kill them or harm them in anyway.
I think you will find that you have more than one! You can call your county animal control to see if they can lend you a trap. If not, this has been found to work. Rubber snakes bought from a discount or dollar store will scare them away. Place them in planters that they dig in and also in other places like under a BBQ grill (the attraction is the grease catcher cup).

Or try using a ';Have A Hart'; trap, they are easy to set and you can release the animal outside. Then you need to make necessary repairs so they will not return.

You can also buy traps that don't harm them online or at stores for as little as $30.95

HAV-A-HART traps, over the summer I caught and removed about 25 chipmunks from my property by bating them with peanuts. you can get them in any hardware store or places like tractor supply
