Is there another way to get rid of squirrels in the attick besides live trapping?

moth balls
First find where they get in, go into the Attic and scare them out, then close the hole (or holes). The same squirrels will probably come back and try to make new holes. Moth ball don't seem to work and live traps only work if they are blocking the only exit from the attic. A Victor 110 Conibear trap is good if you want to kill them. You might try a strobe light. Good luck, they gnaw the insulation off of electric wiring, make a lot of noise, and do other damage.
If you still want to be humane, I know that there are companies that install one way ';doors'; in attics for bats. When the bats leave, they can't get back in. There may be a similar product for squirrels. The things is, once you do get rid of them, you have to fill up EVERY access point that they could squeeze into, or they WILL return--your attic is a cozy place to spend the winter.
TRY A PRODUCT CALLED CRITTER RIDDER-AT
